This is a comprehensive renovation and addition to a venerable Washington DC home in the Kent neighborhood.  The home was stately to begin with, but had undergone several dated additions over the last 30 years.  We removed those and took the main home back to the original layout. The addition works to seamlessly blend with the original to create a home for a large family.  The lap pool and bluestone terrace are a focal point for the family, and we designed the main rooms to connect easily and dramatically to the outdoors with the open arch exterior stair or the sun-filled main interior staircase.
